Ambassador Visited Tokyo Immigration, Tokyo

Ambassador Farukh Amil, accompanied by Consular and Community Affairs Officer Mr. Adnan Javaid, visited the Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau, on 23 June 2016. He was warmly received by Mr. Katsuaki Itoh, Director of the Bureau.

          The visit was in continuation of Mission's deep and intensive engagement with local authorities for the benefit of Pakistani Community across Japan. The Ambassador met with five (5) Pakistani citizens detained at the Tokyo Immigration Center and conveyed Eid greeting and presented them with dates in consonance with Holy Ramadan.

 The visit afforded a valuable opportunity to apprise Immigration Authorities regarding Pakistani Community's issues related to secure immigration. Ambassador highlighted Pakistani Community's contribution during Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011. He also underscored that Pakistani Community was law abiding and playing positive role.

          The Director appreciated the Ambassador's visit and stated that exchange of frank opinion was vital in strengthening the understanding on the important relevant issues. He also acknowledged Pakistani Community's services during crisis and expressed his resolve to make Japan a better place for foreigners.
