Ambassador Calls on the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Kazuyuki Nakane

(14-09-2017): Ambassador Asad M. Khan called on the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kazuyuki Nakane at the Gaimusho (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) today. The Ambassador felicitated Mr. Nakane on assuming the important Office of the State Minister for Foreign Affairs. Ambassador briefed the State Minister about Pakistan’s sustained economic turnaround and International Financial Institutions’ encouraging assessment of the growth potential of Pakistan’s economy. Ambassador Khan said that immense opportunities in fields of trade and investment are now available in Pakistan that Japanese businesses could benefit from. Ambassador also apprised the Minister of the remarkable gains made by Pakistan in eliminating terrorism from its soil and the improved security environment in Pakistan. He noted that last year witnessed the lowest number of terrorist incidents over the last decade.

                         

State Minister welcomed the Ambassador and recalled his 2015 visit to Pakistan and the warmth and cordiality shown to him at lunch in Pakistan. He agreed that substantial cooperation potential existed in various fields and expressed the hope that measures will be taken to harness it to the mutual benefit of both countries. He expressed the hope that friendly bilateral relations would further grow between Japan and Pakistan.
